2022 UCI Mountain Bike World Championships

The UCI Mountain Bike World Championships are back in Les Gets

Eighteen years after the 2004 UCI MTB World Championships, Les Gets will host the UCI MTB World Championships from 24 to 28 August 2022, organising these jointly with the French Cycling Federation.

This event is totally FREE and open to all !

5 events are on the programme for this competition week:

  • The XCO : Olympic Cross-country
  • The XCR : Cross-country Relay
  • The XCC : Cross-country Short Track
  • The DHI : Downhill Individual
  • The E-MTB (electrically assisted mountain bike)

The world’s best riders, in both Olympic Cross-country and Downhill, will come to compete on exceptional trails with the ultimate ambition to win the famous rainbow jersey of their discipline!

In addition, the XCO athletes, an Olympic discipline, will take the opportunity to make their mark on Paris 2024…

In 2022, France will host three major cycling events with:

– The BMX World Championships in Nantes from 26 to 31 July.

– The Mountain Bike World Championships in Les Gets from 24 to 28 August.

– The Track Cycling World Championships in Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines from 12 to 16 October.

Under the umbrella of the French Cycling Federation (FFC) and local organising committees, the brand name “Terre de vélo 2022” [France, Land of Cycling 2022] was created to attract the general public and cycling enthusiasts in France and abroad to these major cycling events.

We look forward to seeing many of you in 2022 to support the athletes and prove once again the French public’s attachment and enthusiasm towards all cycling disciplines !
